Anyone have trouble mounting a new toy on their KMR? My Elzetta came in yesterday and for the life of me I couldn't get it to slide in place. I eventually loosened the screws and slid it in and then snugged them back up but it seemed like a real PITA. I felt like it should have gone on easier. Unless how I did it is correct and I'm just an idiot.

You're supposed to loosen the screws and then tighten them up when you've got the mount in place.
Did you think it should just snap into place without any loosening/tightening? I had a major facepalm when I did that so there's no point in retaliating from me. I just wanna make sure that was correct so *flame suit on*. |

Also, when installing keymod accessories; with the screws backed most of the way out the keymod nut, after sliding the nut forward into the keymod slot, pull the accessories upwards and away from the rail. This ensures the keymod nuts are properly aligned within the slot as you tighten the screws.
Once screws have fully seated when tightening, turn screws no more than an additional 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn. |
