I'm currently using CTRs and MOEs on all of my carbines but was thinking about trying the LWRC compact stock on a new build. Anyone using this stock? Experiences? Are they only some direct through LWRC? I can't find any listed through vendors.

Nice stock.  Fits snugly on receiver extension.  Has a nice contour on the rear.  Reminds me of an updated CAR stock.

That sounds like what I'm looking for. I've got an old Colt CAR stock but it's a bit too small and I've been spoiled by the rubber butt pads on the Magpuls. How fat is it compared to the SOPMOD? I don't like them at all as their way too fat for me.

It's nowhere near as wide as a SOPMOD.

The stock width on CTRs and MOEs was too narrow for me to get a good cheek weld. I had looked at the SOPMOD stock before settling on a STR (post price drop) but now that I'm seeing the LWRC stock I might have gone this route instead. Oh well, next build!

I have one. It's about 1 7/8 in. wide.

They are awesome, kinda  2/3 size sopmod.

Small, light, good cheek weld, QD socket, cheap at @ $60.

During black fri 20% off sale, direct from LWRC they were $42 with free shipping.

I bought one b/c everyone seems to like them, but once I got it and tried it, I immediately took it off.
I guess I'm just used to the SOPMOD stock on my KAC Mod1.

Thank to another member here, I got one of these stocks. Is there some trick to installing them on the RE? I tried pulling down on the lever as with most collapsible stocks but it doesn't seem to drop the pin any further than pressing in on the lever to adjust LOP. Any hints?

Yeah, it doesn't work like other stocks even though you'd expect it to.  Just grab the lever and pull it straight down rather than pulling the rear part of the lever and letting it pivot on the front edge.   I'm not sure how to explain it so it make sense...hopefully that helps.  You can pull the pin down enough to get the stock onto the RE, you just can't do it by operating the release lever the way you would on other stocks.

EDIT:  Nevermind...was thinking this was about the Ultra Compact Stock

The Compact Stock is IMHO nearly perfect in size and shape for an SBR.

My black one is on an 11.5" 6.5 Grendel build. No muss, no fuss.
