Putting together a bit of a long distance shooter.
I just ordered my barrel. Odin Works, DMR barrel, 18" in 223 Wylde chamber, with a rifle length gas system. I have a Rock River Arms 2-stage trigger. About the only thing I don't have sorted out is the hand guard. Would be nice to take some weight off with carbon fiber like this: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/489461/ap-customs-free-float-tube-handguard-ar-15-extended-15-rifle-length-carbon-fiber-black Would love to hear opinions. I'm a little cautious because of the way it mounts. Was also thinking about this: http://www.wcarmory.com/troy-alpha-rail-15-vtac-no-sight-blk.htm But the mounting looks similar. I've never installed a hand guard so I'm a bit of a noob. |

I can't help you with your choice, but I'd certainly consider a Seekins SAR, and for value, look at the ALG Defense rails. I like some of the Midwest Industries rails too. Good luck with your choice. |

I meant to post this in the Build it Yourself section. But this will work.
As far as Odin Works, this? https://www.odinworks.com/ODIN_Works_Sport_Forends_p/f-15.htm Does it attach to a standard barrel nut? Thanks for the other suggestions too. I'll look into them. Edit: Yeah, Seekins is out of the budget. But I do like the ALG: http://algdefense.com/15-ergonomic-modular-rail-black.html Smooth look. Light, and wouldn't have rail all across the top. I could get one small section for the top for my front flip up sight and one small section for the bottom if I get a bipod. ...and out of stock. But I'm in no rush. |
