Is there any difference in brands that one might purchase? At my local store they had a brand "ML" it looked like. I ant something quality and I dont mind spending a few extra dollars for dependability for my AR.

I am still learning the trusted brands in the AR community for products, so thats why I came here. I'm going to Free Float my rifle, and they said id need a low profile gas block, in addition to whatever length rail I decide on

You are correct, if the gas block isn't fitted right or moved, then your AR will become a single shot rifle.  You can pick up one of these from AIM for less than $30 shipped:

Or an adjustable one if you want:

Any opinions on daniel defense gas blocks or from brownells?

Spend <$25 for a YHM. Or a DD if you can get it for that.  YHM's work fine though.  Can't think of a real need for an adjustable unless it's a match gun.

Also for suppressor use. Supressors cause more gas to move through the system, causing an over gassed state. An adjustable fixes this right up.

Nothing was stated about supressing by OP that is why I did not state the potential use.  He did speak of free floating being important so I thought there might be match gun potential.

My response was tailored to OP not a general response, but I was not clear.  I stand corrected in the broad sense.

I'm only looking to free float, I dont think i'll be doing any competition shooting or anything, I do plan to take some tactical classes. Just want to make sure I get a quality gas block for this process.

The Daniel .625 (clamp style) was to large to fit under my NSR rail without bumping.  I had to pick up one from brownells which was the set screw style.  Both are steel.

If it was actually MI, as in Midwest Industries, they make good stuff.

It might have been what you mentioned. I just want to make sure that I am getting a quality product, so I was looking at Daniel Defense, Centurion, or something off of BCM or Rainers site.... I only know very little though....
