Curious about testing staking by trying to loosen the screws.  How much torque using an allen wrench would be recommended and still not have them budge?

They appear to be properly staked but as mentioned, just curious.

ETA:  ....using just my hand, I should not be able to budge them, correct?

You'll strip out the head of the screw or break an Allen key before you get them to move. If they're moving, you need to fix it.

Please don't. They are one time use items. There is no testing.

Huh?

A screw that is torqued to a maximum of 55 INCH pounds is going to break or strip?

I've successfully removed carrier key screws before, and yes, they must be replaced. But unless someone WAY over cranked the screw it should be removeable.

Over torquing gas key screws usually results in the head snapping off.

Ask me how I know...

Take it on faith that your PROPERLY STAKED bcg is appropriately torqued.  Until it proves to you that it is not, IT IS.

Not a good idea grandpa
But for real though, the only test you need to do is grab the key with your finger and thumb, and try to wiggle it. If it doesnt move youre golden
