I'm looking to get one of the piggy back CASV handguards, Wanting to get some input before I go any further. Any oppinion is helpful. I had a CASV-EL. Here are my thoughts: 1- Super easy to install. You don't have to remove anything (fsb, delta ring, barrel nut...nothing). 2- Very sturdy. It was rock solid and extremely tough. 3-I hated the mounting system on it. It was really wide on the sides for mounting anything, since the bolt on rail sections added a lot of width. If you had an offset laser on the top you will be fine, but mounting it on the side is just too awkward. |

I like it. I have 3 of the mid length.
Solid, lightweight, comfortable in the hand, adaptable. Use a PRO and remove the spacer to co-witness with irons. I'm using a Troy rear BUIS (prior to the idiocy from Troy). Can mount a light at the proper 1:30 location, places the light aft enough to help balance. |

I have a CASV-ELS and I really like it. Also, American Defense makes a T1/H1 mount made specifically for them to give a lower 1/3 cowitness.
I have an ARMS #40 Rear Flip sight and a YHM Folding FSB in front. With the ADM mount I have good visual on my BUIS when they're up. |
| I have several. When mounting a red dot, your best solution is getting an Aimpoint T1 or H1 and using the American Defense mount or getting the Aimpoint Patrol and taking the removeable riser section out of the mount. You can find people occasionally selling just the mounting system from the Aimpoint PRO on the EE, and then you can go with any red dot that uses a 30mm mount. |
