I have a Mag Tac lower and upper, and the receivers simply do not mate well together. I have to squeeze the receivers together to insert the rear take-down pin, and the best way to describe that occurrence would be say it's the equivalent of having an Accu-Wedge in the lower receiver. Once I get the rear take-down pin through, there seems to be upward pressure on the upper receiver, which again, is like having an Accu-Wedge installed. There is also a sizeable gap between both receivers.

To rule out which receiver was problematic, I installed a Colt and S&W upper receiver on the Mag Tac lower, and both mated perfectly, so the problem is obviously the Mag Tac upper.

That said, I contacted Jake at Mag Tac, and he said to send the upper in for an exchange, which is what I did. I got the new replacement, and still have the same issue. Sent Jake another email, and of course, nothing back, which is what I've grown to expect from manufacturers, so here I am.

Has anyone else had this problem, or have an idea what the problem is with the upper?

I love it when they fit like that. A couple thousand rounds will loosen it up some.

It's not the lugs that are tight. It's some sort of manufacturing anomaly. Something in the front of the receiver is binding, which prevents the rear of the receiver from seating correctly.
