Looking for a 18" 223 Wylde barrel to shoot 600-800 yard steel.

Rainier has 2 different models (Match vs Ultramatch) that are $100+ a part and come in SPR, Intermediate and Mid.

Is the ultra match that much better than the match and what gas system do I want (would like to run a collapsable stock)?

$100 is about 1c per round over the lifetime of a barrel.  My ultramatch is pretty impressive, but you'd need handloads or $$ match ammo to really take advantage of it. (You'd need heavy bullets to do much at 800y anyway)

Prefer intermediate gas for a 18" barrel.  You can get intermediate gas tubes direct from Noveske.  Rifle len is probably ok too, but intermediate is "ideal".

The way I figure it the "match" barrel still has a sub-moa guarantee as well as their warranty which is plenty good for me.
