I have done a lot of scouring the net and can't seem to find much info on this rail. 2 or 3 posts and one video. I'm wondering why these aren't more popular. They seem to be an easy install compared to some. They look nice and seem priced very competitively.

Anyone have any experience with this rail? Thank you.

It's a pretty bulky setup, when most keymods are going for a slimmer profile. I think that's the kicker. There are just better rails out there in keymod for the price point.

I have one inbound for a 8" 300blk build. It was the only rail I could find at the time that was keymod and about the right length (7.38").

Of course after ordering I saw the SLR Rifleworks 7" Solo Lite handguard (actually 7.25"). I may have to return the CMMG and get that one.

Bulky?  Do you own, or have you ever handled one?  It's less than an 1/8" wider than the NSR.

OP, I have one and like it for all the reasons you mentioned above.  As far as lack of catching on is concerned, who knows.

I too would like for Losd to possibly expand on his opinion of this rail if he could please.

Anyone else?

I did not know CMMG made one but it looks nice.

Theres not much detail on it though besides weight which is on the high side for tube rails imo.

I was just going by every picture I saw. The thing looked excessively rounder than my nsr or kmr. If the measurements are that close, then pardon my ignorance.

11.2 oz is on the high end? Let me go see what Noveske weighs

ETA: 9.8 oz for 11" rail.

1.5 oz, is that a deal breaker?

I run a 13" KMR which is 7.7oz with barrel nut, so yes deal breaker to me.

CMMG Keymod 14" is 12.9 with barrel nut

I can see how people feel the CMMG is bulkier with them compared like that.

Magnesium alloy. Apples and Oranges comparison.

my bad noveske on top.  sorry was kinda busy when I posted.
cmmg is a good price point.  the main difference I have seen handling the nosveske, mi and cmmg is is the od and overall weight.
the noveske is slimmer and has the different feel. the noveske is more oblong and smooth. the cmmg is a little bigger, rougher texture, and has a lip where the keymod is is.
I believe it  is  personal preference.
we allow customers to handle them and that is what I have seen it comes down to.
the mid west industries is in between the two in feel.
the cmmg is a solid rail with a great price point.  I feel they are an over looked rail. Nothing wrong with them.  If you are using a magwell grip you are probably better served by a different brand as the barrel nut locking system  is more like a mi or troy.

I kinda like it based on those pics. Might even handle heat better than the NSR.

The MI Keymod is an ounce heavier then the KMR and is not magnesium alloy I believe, but their barrel nut is not as good.

Purchased this rail. It is great. It doesn't feel or seem bulky at all. Slimmer than any other rail or handguards I have ever used or handled.
