I'm switching from a commercial tube to a milspec tube. I don't need to break the bank on it, but I'd like to buy a quality product. Aside from that, I'd like a 5 or 6 position tube. Anything I should be looking for or looking to avoid? What's a reasonable price on a used tube?

I used a Bravo Company buffer tube twice in the past and was very happy with them. If I needed another I would definitely get another Bravo. It's milspec in dimension and material (7075 aluminum), the latter being a must have feature for me. The fit was perfect and compared to the cheap tubes I had dealt with in the past, I had zero issues getting it aligned perfectly. Price is very reasonable IMO as well.

BCM 6 position mil-spec size tube, I used two of them and I also have one spare kit, they fit snug with my standard M4, Magpul MOE and Vltor mil-spec size stocks. Another brand I would suggest is the Palmetto State Armory 7075 T6 mil-spec size 6 position tube (link below). Avoid the 6061 aluminum alloy extruded tubes and the cheap brands made in China, they'll work but not very durable. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ar-15-05/lower-parts/individual-parts/palmetto-state-armory-6-position-mil-spec-buffer-tube-6465.html |
