My search for a M4 mid-length drop-in handguard with a A frame front sight cut out is not coming out as expected.  I have contacted Daniels Defense and MI.  Since they are the top of the line handguard manufacturers.  They do not manufacture what I was searching.  They do however manufacture free float mid-length with cut outs.  They suggested that I cut/remove my Delta Ring and all associated parts underneath and make it a free float system.

This is a very good suggestion.  However, in a way, I do not like to deviate from the original intent by the M4 manufacturer.  I sort of like to keep my Sig M400 in its original form.

Would there be any advantages between free floats and drop-ins on the operation of an M4?  Aside from accessories have more choices.  Thanks again to all.

accuracy, anything touching your barrel can interfere with the barrel harmonics which can lead to changes in POI

Is the Delta Ring considered as a device touching the barrel?  Or are you referring to touching the barrel specifically after the front sight?

This video explains it well.

Evidently, there are more choices for free float hand guards than drop-ins.  I will probably look for a gunsmith to cut the delta ring from my M4.

No reason to pay a gunsmith.  It's not rocket science.   I did mine with a hacksaw while watching TV.   A dremel would have been easier/quicker but I didn't feel like going to the basement.

Take a look at videos of installing a Centurion C4 rail.   Easy install.  Rock solid quality rail.

Thanks.  I did see other vids from MI on how to remove the Delta Ring.  No worries.  The gunsmith I inquired will be doing it for free.  Provided I have the new hand guard already ordered by MI 20XG2 with me so as he will do a quick swap.  I think they have a tool that expands the Delta Ring and just remove it.  A quick 30 min job.  The only thing after communications with MI, is that the sling loop also needs removal.  On the other hand (no pun intended) my left hand is incapacitated due to a surgery just yesterday.  So, no hurry.
