How can mounting an aluminum FF rail to the receiver accurately align a mounted front site. Seems to me any bump  or small drop would knock that tube out of alignment or bend it out of place. Just doesn't seem durable enough for field applications. Saw a top name rail posted on M4 forum  that was dropped and landed on the light. Bent the rail a lot. Mod's closed that post the same day to allow manufacture to respond. How many folks have had alignment issues with a long FF tube?

FF rails are generally very strong and rigid.  That incident was the rarity.

FF rails are generally very strong, however, some people share your concern and run a pinned A2 FSB even if they have a FF rail.

Most people using a free float tube aren't using the front sight; it's only there as a back-up (regardless of whether or not it's a fixed FSP or rail mounted).

There are some designs that attach better than others and some that have stronger rails than others, but actually USING the front sight is generally of no concern to the people who use free float rails.

ETA In fact I know people who have back-up sights but have never zeroed them, so they effectively have worthless sights on their rifle and only installed them for the "cool" factor.  I suspect this is fairly common.

If iron sight accuracy is critical for you, you can utilize a barrel mounted front sight in conjunction with a FF rail.
