Just so I'm sure on this, a 12 inch free float tube will work on a 20 inch barrel and still allow me to use the A2 front sight( the tube won't be to long for the sight to fit or to short)? I'm kind of a noob when it comes to free float tubes.

Yes but you're going to have to remove your FSB to install the rail.

Unless I were trying to build a precision rifle, before I did that I drop in a KAC M5 RAS and call 'er good.

(KAC has factory seconds for $150 [<1/2 price])

not necessarily.  some rails break into 2 pieces and just clamp around the barrel nut.

Er, ah, like the KAC?

I can't think of a true FF that drops in.

omega, centurion, Midwest, troy, plenty of companies have 2 piece free floats now that clamp to the stock barrel nut.
