Hey guys,
I'm looking for information on the BattleComp 1.0 because I'm thinking about adding it to my 6920 but I'm wondering if it's worth my money/time. Based on what I've read, I understand that it helps with muzzle rise when you're rapid firing but does it help for full auto only or rapid semi-auto fire? I currently have an A-2 flash hider attached to a 14.5 inch barrel so will I get a noticeable difference from it or is it more of advantage to an SBR? Also, my flash hider is pinned to my barrel so how much of an issue will it be to swap them out? Thanks for the help. Sorry if this stuff has been answered in another post, I did a search but couldn't find anything on it. |

If you have a 14.5" barrel, and there is a standard A2 flash suppressor pinned and welded, it will not make a legal 16", it requires the slightly extended A2FS, which is what I'm sure you meant. With that in mind, the BC 1.0 will not make it a legal 16" either, you want the BC 1.5, which would make a total length of 16" when properly affixed. The Colt 6920 series are a 16" barreled carbine. I don't know if you replaced the barrel with a 14.5 or if there is another reason why your device would need to be pinned to a 16" barrel for your state. |

Stick,
Thanks for the info, I should have been more specific with my information. I refer to my AR as a 6920 because that is what my lower is, however my upper does have a 14.5" barrel so I think you're right about my flash suppressor being a A2FS. With my flash suppressor being pinned and welded is it even possible to remove it without damaging the barrel itself? In your experience, does the BattleComp significantly reduce the amount of felt recoil and barrel rise enough to merit the cost? |
I like the BC 2.0, myself. Not that I'll ever own a Gemtech HALO, but it's nice to know that if I ever did have the scratch and the patience, it would fit right over the BC 2.0
The BC 2.0 works pretty decent, for what it is. Is it worth the money? I don't really know the answer to that. I think it was, but cost/benefit is subjective. Colin |
