How many rounds will the trigger pin holes in the lower receiver last before they wear out to the point of being too loose? Or will they ever wear out? Does it wear out the holes removing the pins a lot.

They won't wear out.

Incorrect.  They will but the round count is much higher than pretty much anyone shoots even the most highest volume shooters your barrel will wear out long before.

Loose pins will wear out faster than tight ones though.  I saw several that were shot out but they were Full Auto lowers.  As for a semi lower have not seen one yet.

These guys are basically saying the same thing...you will wear out other parts long before you have to worry about this. Looking back through some of your other posts you seem v concerned about durability and reliability. My advice would be just make sure everything is as it should be and enjoy your rifle!

I've seen worn out receivers while in the military, but they were high round count M16s.  As the others said, it'll be one of the last parts to wear out.

He should look on the bright side
if they ever do wear out, he can have them drilled out to .169 and it will be just like brand new

do they make trigger groups that are .169

You can buy .155 trigger pins if the holes get wallered out.

I'm sure some one will make bushings and do the repair to bring them back to new if needed.

Even if the holes get loose the hammer retains a pin and the hammer spring retains the trigger pin right?

Correct. Remember the notches in the pins? The springs sit in the notches and keep them in place

theoretically, though I have seen and know other people that have seen pins walk out. hence kns pins.

People can say that they aren't needed till they are blue in the face, but I've had it happen to me and for $30, It's a value added

Those pins are cool but i still am not sure if a semi auto ar-15 receiver will ever wear out...I do shoot a lot though (1000 rounds per month) so I wonder if that is enough shooting to cause an issue with the pins wearing out the lower receiver.

For a regular lower, it won't hurt, but they can be replaced easily. For a title 2 lower, I'd consider them mandatory myself. You don't really have to worry about that though.

If you're concerned about it and  have $6000+ a year ammo budget, just spend the $30 on kns pins and/or replace your $120 lower when it wears.

i think ill go with the pins eventually. i still would be surprised to see a lower wear out on semi auto use no matter how many rounds you put through it.
