I am in the market for a replacement, upgrade trigger for my current factory DPMS trigger. It has a ton of slop and creep. I use this rifle for shooting for fun and wanting to get a new trigger but not spend a more than I paid for the rifle. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a good "budget" trigger that I would enjoy shooting.

Thanks

I love my Gieselle SSA and my JP Enterprises JPFC-1.  The Geiselle is a drop-in two stage and the JP is a single stage that takes a little tuning, but is EXTREMELY precise.  I tried the CMMG 2-stage and it's only marginally better than stock.

ETA: The JP Enterprises EZ trigger looks interesting, but I've never used one.

Geissele SSA, Geissele G2S, or ALG ACT, depending on budget.

I have tried a lot of triggers and the JPFC-1 is the best trigger for that price range that I have tested. For anyone that mostly likes the stock trigger, but wishes it was crisper, cleaner and had less reset travel it is my #1 recommendation for under $200.

Spike's Tactical Battle Trigger is nickel boron coated and costs around $60 or so. I have one. Smooth pull and nice reset. Very happy with mine.

So with the JP single stage do I use my current hammer?

What's the "budget"?

ALG ACT is probably a good budget option for an upgraded mil-spec.

For a premium trigger at a non-premium price, CMC trigger.  It is an awesome value that gives you near JP performance without the need for fitting.

Yes,your hammer will work just fine with that trigger.

budget would be something around the $120 JP range or less. My DPMS stock trigger is just very heavy and sloppy feeling. Seems like the trigger is fully pulled , then the round fires. I guess I am too use to my match rifle trigger in my bolt action of 10 oz with no creep or over travel

Honestly, I'd save up a bit and go with the Geissele SSA.

You'll NEVER regret it. And just watch the vids on their website. Takes all of 15 min. to swap out and you'll think you've got a new rifle.

And search some of the vendors, I've seen it as low as $180... not sure where, and it was after I'd bought mine. Maybe Quantico Tactical? I know Palmetto State usually has them in stock. And they usually have a coupon code to use every month.
