Hey Guys, those of you that have the 5.56 Centurion CMR rail, what type of gas block are you using? Dimple,Clamp, Daniel Defense, VLTOR, YHM?
I am about to build another rifle and I want to make sure that I have a gas block that will fit

You shouldn't have a problem with any of the common low profile gas blocks.  I'm using a few different ones under my various builds, including a Centurion Arms pinned block, BCM block screwed, and a Rainier Arms one which is pinned also screwed.

I just installed a CMR 7.62 using a Syrac set screw gas block and dimpled barrel. It fits fine but it's pretty tight, I don't see any way a clamp-on gas block would work. I agree that any low-pro set screw or pinned type should work, but I doubt the DD or Vltor clamp-ons would work.

This was a 7.62 also - don't know if there might be more room on the 5.56 or not.

You are correct that there are clamp on models which would be much less likely to work.  Typically they are not as popular, but your point is very worth noting.

Yea, that is what I am trying to figure out. The shop that I get all my parts at (where I used to work) mainly has DD and VLTOR clamp on blocks. I think they may have one dimpled block floating around, but it might be a pain in the A$$ to find. I may just have to go visit Stickman unless Weapon Outfitters has one

Would anyone that's used a BCM set-screw gas block be able to post some close-up pics showing how much clearance the rail has with it installed?

Thanks a bunch in advance!

I used a BCM - my camera is packed up somewhere, but my photog skill suck anyways

Plenty of room though, no worries.

Thanks for the info.  I keep reading conflicting accounts about this though.  Some folks (including guys like Stick) saying it's no problem and then others saying that they've had to take material off of the (BCM) gas block in order for it to have enough clearance.
