I am new to the AR15 platform other then my time in the ARMY where I didn't have need to mod my M4. I have recently purchased a DPMS oracle and want to put a 12 inch free float rail system on it. I know I will have to use a low profile gas block but I am not sure what I need to order.

Welcome to the madness!  The Oracle is a fine gun IMHO.  If yours is like mine, you've got some work ahead of you -- not hard, but you'll need some tools as well as parts.  Depending on the free float you choose you may need to replace the barrel nut.  You will certainly need to remove the delta ring, front hand guard cap, muzzle device (flash hider), and gas block.  There is one free float that uses the standard barrel nut, but I forget what it is right now.

You'll need an armorer's wrench to get the barrel nut and flash hider off.
You'll also need an upper receiver block to hold the upper receiver in the vice.
I don't remember whether the gas block is held on by set screws, but if it is you'll need the Allen wrenches to loosen them.
A lot of people cut off the delta ring, but if you remove the barrel you can pry out the retaining ring and remove the delta ring without cutting.

If you choose a hand guard with a proprietary nut, you'll need the appropriate wrench.

You will probably need a new crush washer or peel washer to reinstall the flash hider.

You'll need a punch to remove the gas tube pin from the gas block if you're going to reuse the gas tube with the new gas block.  Get a new gas tube pin.

Most importantly, get a copious amount of your favorite enhanced beverage.

You may want to post in your home town forum for help.  There are lots of people here that have the tools and experience to help you do it right.

Well said JC10311!

LoSTNoz,Welcome to the board.  I have a 5.56 Oracle and it's been a great rifle. Get's addicting with all the options available so this might be just the first of mods you consider while you have it..
