Any places with it in stock or soon to be? If not, what's the backorder looking like?
Great looking rail, interested to see how it handles the heat. How do you guys think this rail system compares to the Fortis Rev http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=3366? Specifically in terms of heat dispersion, but also overall. Last thing, 12" or 14" on a 16" barrel? Thanks. |

If you email Centurion Arms, I know they have them, but their web guy hasn't put them up yet, so that is another option. I don't think it does really compare to the Fortis (I own multiples of both). The Fortis uses a stock barrel nut, the CMR uses an extended barrel nut for better rigidity and heat dispersion though this may not be a big deal for many people. The Fortis has a hybrid Keymod/ 1913 system, the CMR uses a more modular approach giving a smooth surface with a 1913 rail on top plus the ability to use attachment points and accessories which mount direct to the rail. The Fortis spends less time on a CNC machine, which means it is cheaper to manufacturer, and cheaper for the consumer. The CMR was designed without cost in mind, making the best rail without compromise based on the training and operational experiences of the owner (active duty SEAL). |

Will the 5.56 version mount up to a Mega billet upper without a mod?
Second, did I miss the weight of these (5.56) if not, does anybody know (with barrel nut)? Thanks, RR |

I really like the flush look of the 14" CMR on a 14.5" barrel, but I would prefer to stay at 16" for ballistics (and to swap out breaks/flash hiders), so I figured I might as well go 12" rail on a 16" barrel if the barrel is already protruding significantly. The most I would ever install on this would be night vision, 1-4x (perhaps higher), /acog/red dot, laser, grip, and lights. I'm assuming 12" should be enough real estate. Barrel length and rail length here? I like. Thanks. |

Thanks, RR I don't have a Mega billet upper to check, sorry. I thought it would, but I could be wrong. Regarding weights, check out the first post of this thread, I listed everything out. |

I'm not sure there is a clear winner depending on what you do and your own likes and dislikes. I can try to shoot a picture of both of them next to each other if I remember. Yes, 5.56 and 300BLK will use the same CMR rail without any trouble. |

I think I'm going with a 14" as I don't expect this to end up being a particularly lightweight build. Two things. The BCG in the 3 gun 16" revolution... is it the same as the the Rainier thunderbolt? And would the CMR fit on the SR-15? |

Anti rototation tabs are nice to have, but not really needed with proper torque where needed IMHO. I'm guessing with the wild variations in .308 upper receivers, Centurion Arms made the call to skip the anti rotation tabs on the .308 variants.
I'm thinking that little tab will allow Centurion to create anti-rotation tabs to fit specific types of .308 uppers in the future, starting with the most popular options and then creating different anti rotation tabs as needed. I just got my batch of 5.56 CMRs in, and man, I can see now why the 14" is so darn popular. I swapped my early production 12" CMR off and put on a 14"... with a 14.7" barrel with pinned/welded Surefire suppressor mount, this thing is the heat! |

In your estimate, will the 14" work with a 14.5" barrel with a Surefire mount and can? Looks like it would be really tight. |

You are paying for CNC machine time. If you are looking for a straight and simple extruded tube, you should be able to find them much cheaper but they aren't going to be like this. There are certainly people who won't see the difference, or don't need the differences, and that is all good as well. |

When Monty first floated the idea of a premium slick rail to me, with its own proprietary, and smarter mounting system... I thought he was crazy! However, the amount of thought he put into the design of the rail along with help from one of the designers who worked on the SCAR program, and the fact he refused to cut any corners with the production of the rail system really shows. There are many, many places he could have cut materials down to cut down on costs and and weight dramatically... but instead added material so that these rails would be a balance of both as light as possible, while being as strong as possible. It seems to me that many rails are being just thrown out there on the market with the goal of chasing light weight in order to win marketing wars. The Centurion Arms founder fights and wins in shooting wars, so this rail was designed to be battle ready first. The interior has strengthening ribs for mounting and rigidity. Lesser companies would have cut this out for significant weight and cost savings. |

Now when are the rail covers being released? And what material are they polymer or G10? |

Okay so I understand being right handed and using a thumb over bore grip you can activate the light at 1 o'clock, but does the front sight get in the way since its moved back like that? ETA; Excellent wallpaper. |
