picke up a rifle length 12½" long FF handguard over the weekend.  cant seem to find an ID on it after exhausting my aparently feeble google-fu
barrel nut has a lock nut on it for setting index ,   its knurled and then has milled slots and threaded rail mounts on the front.

i know i've seen it but have spent hours crusing the net trying to find the mfg of it - hopeing one of you great folks here can help me

could be a YHM, they have the end covers like the one you have in the pic.

YHM marks their jam nut.  I can't see it in the pics above:

I thought the same when I first saw it.  Unless it's a one-off.

Could be anybody's, lots of companies used to make FF tubes that no longer make them or had someone else subcontract them. YHM or RRA would be guess based on the overall appearance though. Maybe a DPMS?

Looks like a YHM except for the longitudinal slots

Is the slotted portion a separate piece? Some of the Hogue's look like that and have a screw-on slotted extension.

its one piece construction.

unfortunately there is no markings anywhere that i can see on this thing

i guess i'm just going to have to make sure i take it with me when i  go shopping for a rail.

i was hopeing to be able to source accessories off the web and not have to worry about hole location spacing being right, etc.

Own a drill? Make new holes.
This is what I use for adding rails to free float handguards, same heaight as the upper rail on my FF handguards. I put a chunk of it on the end for a MBUS front sight and I'm done.
Found a vendor selling the 11" ones on EBay a few years ago and bought 2 for $20 shipped total .

i'm definatly not afraid to modify and yes i have tools to do so :)

i just prefer to use factory stuff IF possible as i know they're all lined up properly, etc without fussing around :D

thanks for all the help.

Its not a YHM.  The barrel nut is wrong and the Jamb nut looks too thin.  Also a smooth YHM tube is not as "Stepped" where you have the smooth then knurled parts.

The End cap might be YHM but not sure.

I ran across it today.  It's a Hogue 3 gun FF tube.  the slots at the rear should unscrew from the front grooved portion of the tube....or at least it looks like it.

the slots are actually at the front of the handguard.  The rear of the handguard is the end that the barrel nut is sitting next to with all the nurled rings.

it is definatly a 1 peice rail.  Thanks for looking though!
