[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Shadow Ops Weaponry Lower Discussion (Page 1 of 2)

I'm starting this thread for discussion for people that have preordered from Shadow Ops. If anyone already has their lower I'd like to see pics.
I'm currently order #1208 and I've been assured I will have my lower well before the June deadline. Anybody else????? |
| I have order 8xx and I got the message to send my graphics and ffl info on Mar. 8, but I am waiting to see what the billet design will look like to see which way I want to go. Like them on Facebook and you will get a lot of info on everything they are doing and they can even help with an order question there. They actually said they were going to put the billet design up today sometime so hopefully I can make up my mind. |
| Yeah, I've already sent in my graphics and FFL info. Not sure if I did my graphics right, but it sounds like they'll try help if they can. I also heard they may put your graphics on a metal card and send it to you before they put it on your lower. It'll be interesting to see how they look when they start coming out. I like everything I've heard so far, though. |

I ordered mine 1/25 and I am patiently waiting. I saw on the billet design on Facebook, so now I'm torn between the matching upper of a BCG when I get my deal coin. I think I'm leaning towards the upper. I really like the square-ness of it, if that makes sense. Do you have a link to what you are talking about? And the deal coin: I know that comes with the sale, but what is it? thanks |

And the deal coin: I know that comes with the sale, but what is it? thanks Here's the link. They still have 39 in stock. You have the option of a forged or billet for the same price. Billet is a little longer wait. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a second lower this afternoon. I now have order 1200 and like 4500. Price says $162.11, but when I checked out it only charged me $150. So you can basically get a billet lower for $150. You get a deal coin with each lower. You can use these to get discounts on other parts. They mentions a nickel boron BCG for like $129 I think. They're also going to give discounts on matching uppers, but they haven't said anything about a price on that yet. I was leaning toward using my coin on a BCG, but have decided on the matching upper now that that is an option. I think I read you can even do a custom graphic on the upper, too. http://www.shadowopsweaponry.com/products/230-ar-15-stripped-lower-receiver-shdw-15-ar-15-lower-for-sale.aspx |

Ahh, so you already ordered. Don't forget you get 2 custom graphics on your lower, too. Just check their facebook page, that's where they provide semi-daily updates on progress and deals.
Seems like there have quite a few people upset lately because they still don't have their lowers. However, it states in bold red right on the order page that delivery is June 30th or before. Sometimes I wonder if people can read. I did get an email from the owner telling me I'd have my first order well before 6/30, though. Not sure about the one I just bought today. It appears to be a good product so I'm OK with waiting a bit. |

Glad to find this thread. I had an order number in the low 400s and have already received my .308 lower and all I can say is its worth the wait. I used my deal coin on a NB-BCG and this is what my rifle turned out like. I am going to order a 5.56 lower as soon as I can. Paul and the guys there are producing some awesome products. The above post was right on, like them on Facebook, it's a good way to get updates from them. https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/64759_587753247902587_1879776565_n.jpg That's nice. I will have 2 deal coins, I may see if they'll let me use one for a .308 lower. |

That's what I was thinking to on their FB page Everyone is complaining, well guess what people, there are a bunch of custom worked parts that need specific time for each unit Get over it or ask for a refund, seriously it's a good deal and worth the wait as I'm told |
|
I had asked for a refund on the 4/24 regarding my order for one forged lower placed on 1/13. Paul emailed me asap saying my order had been cancelled, and that I can expect it within 8-10 business days. He also sent me a cheesy message asking why I cancelled, stating that the deal coin was a great value considering NiB BCGs were going for $350 on gunbroker (also mentioning skeletonized triggers and GB). I kindly responded that I had secured my fair share of lowers and that with an upcoming long vacation (3 weeks) to Florida, I didn't want to deal with the correspondence issues if and when my lower would've been ready.
No refund 10 business days later. I sent Paul an email addressing this, he responded asap saying he would contact his financial merchant. This was the past Friday. He responded Monday saying that his merchant stated the funds were refunded and I'd have to provide a copy of my bank (CC) statement if I disagreed (yeah right). I called my CC company (BofA), explained the situation, and they advised me to dispute the charge. BofA and myself were in congruence on the idea that Paul's merchant most likely f*cked up and credited the wrong account back. Paul and Shadow Ops seem like a respectable outfit. Their financial merchant, on the contrary, seems like a moron. Just my $.02 Edit: Just checked my CC statement and the credit is finally there. All in all, 20 days total ( 4/24-5/14 ) for a refund. |
|
Just got an email from Paul saying he was denying the charge-back, but that I SHOULD still get my refund. He says I should've contacted the vendor (them) first (which i did) before disputing. I waited 20 days from the day that i initially requested my refund before disputing, and that's only because they told me my refund was issued already, when it clearly hadn't (CC statements don't lie!). They wanted to see my CC statement as proof that the charge-back didn't occur (LOL, yeah right!)
After this response, I have no doubt that this company has a certain element of shadiness to them, and am extremely glad I disputed the charge. If they do dispute the charge-back, my CC company will tell them to get f*cked once they see the amassed evidence. Anybody else having trouble receiving a refund from these clowns? |
| With a little bit of patience and understanding that they bit of more than they can chew in this market, they have been great to deal with. I think they rely on their facebook page more than anything, so if they would make their customers aware of that there would be less problems. I haven't received my lower yet, but received my tracking number yesterday. My order # was 2341 and i didn't opt for the billet upgrade, but did send them my custom graphics. I will post pics when i get it from my ffl. |

Can't wait to get this put together and out on the range. |

I'm unsympathetic and have lost patience with these guys. I placed an order in Feb and within milliseconds they had my money. I was concerned that the parts were ordered without anodizing and after a month of attempted correspondence, I finally get a call from Dennis assuring that all is well and we have it all sorted out. Two more months go by and finally product arrives, but the wrong parts. I attempted to resolve this through the usual private channels, but phone calls and emails were never returned. Finally I took to their facebook site and I got a phone call from Paul.
More apologies, they are so busy, all would be taken care of asap. Here we are, close to a month later and nothing. Now the bolt carrier fiasco (someone has my money) and more excuses. They have a long way to go before restoring any confidence to me. |
|
Dennis and Paul are good guys. I just received shipment notification for my BCGs I ordered. I paid last week, and they shipped today. Not bad at all.
They're going to be getting more of my business, and hopefully they'll be selling me stuff for a long time to come. |
| I'd say something to them now. Looks like they've picked up quite a bit more staff over the last 2 months. Maybe I'm lucky but I've always gotten a reply within a couple days when I've had a question. I also read that people with Yahoo emails were not getting through. Don't know if that applies to you or not. |
| I'm seeing pictures they're posting on Facebook, but the only email I've ever gotten from them was to sell me more stuff. I've asked several times for an eta, but everytime I get a response email they ignore that question. I ordered 2 billet lowers, and cancelled 1 last month when forged lowers started showing up on the market. |
| Ordered on 3/15. Order number 4000'ish. I knew I was gonna wait. Not in a big hurry. Sent in artwork and FFL info in mid April. Decided I would wait for billet. They originally said June for Billets. Then July. I am really hoping for August now. Would like the matching billet upper but they haven't even said what the price point will be on that yet. Not holding my breath. |
|
Tomorrow I will initiate a credit card chargeback dispute after getting no response from three attempts (see below) to cancel...
Hi again; Please cancel Order #44?? Apr-19-2013 and reply back to let me know that the cancel has been initiated. Yes, I understand that after I cancel, I can't come back in and I don't get the "Deal Coin". This is my third request. My first request was on Monday sent to ([email protected]). Perhaps she was not in, or maybe too busy to respond. My second request was on Tuesday to ([email protected]). Do we have a problem with canceling my order? your website says " If you want your money back and want to back out at anytime, you will be allowed a FULL 100% REFUND without any penalty". I get that you are busy. Well I'm busy too! Please process my cancel and do me the favor of sending a reply to acknowledge that the cancel was initiated. This is my last friendly request. If I don't get a response I will initiate other less friendly procedures to collect my refund. PVC |

Anybody else get their forged lower yet? Looks like they're also offering $49.99 LPK's now too. I am still waiting on my billet lower. I have bought and received both FA Bolt group (via WeaponsGuild Group buy) and the LPK. I noticed that the shipping fee that they paid was more than they had charged me. I think they bit off more than they could chew on the Lowers, but I am in no hurry so I can wait several more months if need be. I have had great communication with them. |
|
I've had no problems with communication either. I know some have. I've usually gotten an almost immediate response to the few questions I've had. I did read that they had problems with people who have Yahoo accounts for some reason. The stuff I have seen looks pretty nice and for the most part the people who've gotten theirs seem to be happy. I'm in no hurry so I can wait a while longer.
I did order a lower from another company, whom I will not name, back in January. The first time I asked a question they acted like I was bothering them. Needless to say I halted that transaction. So I can see why some are mad with SOW if they are not getting good communication. |
|
Hello. I ordered three of their lowers around Jan 26. I was order 738. All three of my lowers shipped about a week ago and look great. Here are a few pics. I feel it was definitely worth the wait/risk. Considering that we didn't know what the politcal outcome was going to be back then. And the added bonus of custom laser engravings on each side of the lower. I can throw up some other images of them if you guys would like as well.
Other than that they look good, the anodizing is very clean and the laser engraving was much sharper and more detailed than I was expecting. I won't be assembling it for a bit, but just tossing a mag into the mag well there were no binding issues that I could notice. Which I've seen with some lower quality receivers (Roggio Arms and what not). http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s54/Lovian556/Public/052c60cf-d581-4f6b-a672-4b7dc87c5366_zpse91e6613.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s54/Lovian556/Public/bdc4b606-756f-44c8-b618-cd613988a38e_zps0bee7f86.jpg |

I just inquired about my LR-308 order today, and got a response back at a yahoo email address in a matter of hours. They seem to concise, prompt and professional. My order(# in the 5k's) was advertised to be shipped by the end of July, so I will keep everyone posted, looks like all they just needed was FFL to get back to them, so I added them to the Thread.
I have everything else already... minus my barrel(from DPMS) which I came to find was on back order, even though it was presented to be 'In Stock' on the DPMS.com web site. They said the ETA in the small print stated 8-12 months due to being busy I guess. That was a real bummer....

I'm order # somewhere between 2700 and 2900 placed back in January. I requested the billet upgrade. It's insane how long this is taking. I have been following them on Facebook loosely. I understand they first couldn't get the forgings, then couldn't get the billet material.
The only way I want this lower is if there is a matching billet upper. But, who knows how long that's going to take. At this rate, I would be surprised if the lower is ready in 6 months. I would cancel the order in a heart beat if they didn't promise billet. The one thing I worry about is if the billet lower and upper are going to function well. I'm not sure if they were building them before the scare. I have no idea how much testing has been performed. It would suck to wait a year just to have problems. |
| I also have an order with them it is fairly close to your order #. I'm also getting the billet upgrade and I will be using my deal coin for a matching billet upper. I follow the company closely on facebook and have been quite impressed with the quality of work I have seen pictured. The people who have received forged lowers have nothing but good things to say. I purchased a BCG from them and it is high quality. I have no problem waiting and yes has been awhile but I believe it will be worth the wait. I will be buying more parts from them when I need to. Of course this is just my opinion and YMMV. |
