| I am looking for companies that make different safety selector switches rather than your regular stock looking one. Thanks |

This is the best one, hands down. End of fucking thread. |

I like the Noveske 60 degree selector kit. It uses an interesting selector lever made by Magpul. Even comes with 2 different lever lengths. The one in the pic below is the longer one. http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/IMG_64351.JPG I like that!!! i"ll look into it. Thanks for sharing.....Making my rifle just as yours, FDE with black accents. Nice rig!!! |
This is one of my favorite pics of our selectors, in this case, a BAD-CASS-3P, M16 (select fire), it shows the intricate detail in the lever's machining.
With two different lines of selectors (BAD-ASS, non-dovetailed, 7 lever options; and BAD-CASS, dovetailed, 3 lever options), the next one to be produced is the short throw M16 selector, and after that, the BAD-CASS-JC (with a lever permanently attached). Within each family there's the standard 90 degree, and the short throw, 45 degree. All selectors carry life time, unconditional warranty, and the free lever exchange program will never expire. The history of these selectors is rather overwhelming, much of it can be found here If you're looking for smooth rotating selectors, I believe your best chance is with billet selectors, where the selector center is machined, not MIM. This will include JP, Troy, Noveske STS, and ours. |

If you go with the Battle Arms unit, get the 45* model. The shorter throw is much nicer, especially if you have short thumbs. |

You have my attention! My Colt's ambi selector with short lever is nice, but I would loooove to have a total selector movement less than 180 degrees. |

Or you can just grind the pin off. I have a Noveske unit that i like. The first Noveske STS i installed though cracked down the center of one of the levers when installing it, but i think that was mostly my fault for forcing it. Cleaning the flashing out of the lever slot is essential to a nice fit. Second one works great, it's not the most comfortable thing and honestly the BAD ASS looks like it's probably a better overall unit, but the aesthetics and price of the STS won me over as well as the shorter throw. |

The Noveske STS does not require a compatible receiver, while our short throw selectors do, as at 45 degrees (BAD-ASS-ST went to 50 degree, BAD-CASS-ST will in two weeks, for Wilson Combat TTU compatbility), the markings do not line up with the 12 o'clock FIRE engravings. This is purely a liability issue, the lawyer pin serves no purpose other than barring its use on a standard receiver without the relocated FIRE engravings.
We introduced the short throw, 45 degree BAD-ASS-ST in late 2010 Short throw selector developmenet history We didn't invent it, we were just the first to bring it to market. While the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" school of thought still holds sway, I'm glad that there is more acceptance these days, the Noveske STS, especially because it's not our product, and came from one of the most trusted names in the business, should help folks see beyond the awkward 90 degree throw. We've always known this would take a long time to change something that's been in use for decades, the superiority of a short throw can be seen and demonstrated on many weapon systems. This year we should see two more manufacturers producing 45/90 compatible receivers, where you can use the legacy 90, or our 45/50 degree, or the Noveske STS (60 degree). In a few weeks, we will introduce yet another short throw selector, this time for the M16 |
