I have 2 new complete LMT Defender 2000 lowers but it will be several months before my uppers (Wilson, Larue) arrive. The lowers arrived with the hammers cocked. Should I lower the hammers forward or keep them cocked. Just thinking about the springs. Thanks in advance.

put the hammer forward, dont pull the trigger or you could damage the lower itself.

I would keep them forward just so you don't accidentally break anything. Sometimes the hammer slamming into the bolt catch can crack the lower.

I assume u mean dont  pull the trigger and let the hammer slam forward. I did pull the triggers and let the hammers ease forward.

Like everyone said, it's it's not on a rifle, I like leaving the hammer down.  Because if somehow someone pulled the trigger, it wouldn't go anywhere.  If it was cocked I could possibly break my bolt catch or worse crack the receiver.
