Currently I'm in the process of building up my first AR. My build is geared towards range shooting and eventually getting into some 3run. I'm a strong believer in buy nice or buy twice. Right now im trying to figure out which direction I should go in regards to muzzle devices. I know I don't want to get a break due to the stupendous noise they create. I have it narrows down to 3. The Surefire SF3P-556, BattleComp 1.0, or the Advanced Armament Blackout 5.56.

Please let me know if you have used any above muzzle devices. Did you like it? pros cons? are there some others i should look into?

Thanks for your help.

I have only tried the BATTLECOMP 2.0.  Works well .  Drawback is the price.

I have 51T Blackouts on my rifles, I wouldn't have anything else.

You forgot to describe what you want your muzzle device to do.  Reduce recoil, reduce muzzle flash, protect barrel threads, have pokey things to hurt people or break glass, not degrade accuracy, or just look kuhl?  What are your requirements?

I'd like it to minimize some recoil and reduce muzzle flash while maintaining accuracy. No need for glass breaking or stabbing people haha.

If you want a true competition 3 gun setup, I would go with the Surefire break or look at a SJC Titan comp.

If you want a crossover setup, I would look at the BC.

I've read some reviews that the Battlecomps are extremely loud. People that use them, is that true? Did you notice an increase once you installed it?

There was a comparison done a couple years ago on several of the muzzle brake/comp attachments. The SJC Titan came out pretty much at the top

for recoil reduction and less muzzle rise. I picked up one after reading the review, and really like it. Noisy tho. The Benny Cooley comp looks similar,

I  think from  JPRifles

I like the PWS FSC556.  It eliminates almost all muzzle rise.  It's also a decent flash suppressor.  When shooting in low/no light, I don't notice any flash in my line of sight.

Rattles the fillings something fierce, though.

If you want to totally eliminate muzzle rise get the Battlecomp.. If you want almost zero muzzle flash go Smith Vortex or Blackout.. If you want a hybrid I like the A2

Check out the Spikes Tactical Dynacomp! It does a great job eliminating recoil, and is under $100!

I prefer Battle Comp's offerings...

(ETA: my main requirement is flash suppression. I see you have other mission requirements...)

I like the Vortex.  Of the ones you mentioned, I'd go with the Surefire first, and then the AAC.

I always post a link to this article...it's a little dated now, but it's still good

I have a fcs556 on my 18" distance gun not what I would call loud. I have an AAC single chamber break on my 16" stealth.

That is loud. The rest? buncha Pansies on here....
