Do all Colt Barrels have some sort of stamp or marking?

I am probably going to date myself, but back when I first began assembling AR's, the choice barrels had "CMP Chrome Bore" stamped on them.  At that time. there were nothiing but 20" varieties commercially available (the 16" versions were soon to follow).  Today, the "good" barrels are marked C  MP  5.56 NATO  1/7.  I have been around the Colt product for most of its life, and you cannot go wrong in sticking with it!

Thank you Sir. I have a 20" that I'm told is a Colt Barrel but there are no markings what so ever. I'm wondering if there was ever a production run that were not marked..

AFAIK, ALL Colt barrels are marked C MP 1/7 or 1/9 twist. There are older 1/12 twist barrels that are marked C MP Chrome Bore.

What type/length/profile?

All modern production barrels are marked - but if you have an older piece, marks may be different/faint/not immediately apparent to you.
