Got my blem upper build kit! I'm hoping they are in nice condition. I guess we'll have to wait and find out. Blems are perfect for Cerakote projects! I might have to try that. I've sprayed moly resin but never cerakote. Seems like the prep is move involved. |

Just ordered one of the Demos, complete but unussembled.
Didn't plan on going that route. Was hoping for a complete upper. Hope it's not to tough putting this thing together! Going to do some reading but I believe all I need to complete this upper receiver build (minus barrell asy) would be a BCG and Charging Handle, correct? |

It's not hard, you're gonna need to choose your handguard, gas block, appropriate length gas tube, and muzzle device also. I ordered 2 of the blems, scratches= more character.

I'm hoping to find a barrel with a fixed A2 front sight. Been going back and forth with this because it's primarily for the look. I prefer (albeit with no experience) the look of a 9" handguard and fixed A2 sight. Wondering how I'll feel about that a year after I've had my gun. Would like to get this or something comparable.. |

This is my first build. I had planned on buying a complete upper (minus BCG and CH) per the suggestions on this board.
If I buy a stripped upper and barrel separately will this be something I can handle? I am fairly mechanically savvy but understand that there are more in depth issues that I am unfamiliar with, i.e. headspace and such. |
| ARs were designed so that cavemen could put them together. Use a torque wrench, barrel nut wrench to torque wrench adapter, upper receiver vise block, follow directions, and enjoy. The only step of assembly that gave me pause was when I reached the fork in the road where I had to decide on a pinned or clamp-on gas block. Pinned is better, but I chose clamp-on and it was stupid easy. Haven't had a single issue with that build since. |

It was my understanding that the upper assembly was much more technical. |

If you can do a lower you can do an upper. torque the barrel nut up without screwing up your upper in the vice, getting some hand guards straight, and putting small roll pins in, that's about as difficult as it gets. |

BCM ROCKS!!! +1 I ordered a blem upper and, per their site, I expected it to be a week+ before I got shipment notification. Nope, not even 24hrs later, I have a tracking number. Bravo to BCM! |
