I'm a lefty. I like to use my left trigger finger to strike the left side selector to place the gun on SAFE. I then use my left thumb to strike the right side selector to place the gun on FIRE.  Any recommendations on which two selectors would suit me?

Also, anyone using the CRANK selector?  What kind of feedback do you have for it?

It will be a personal choice.  I use a standard on my thumb side and a crank on the trigger finger side right now. I also have used the standard on both from time to time.  My fingers are pretty long and the thickness of the standard doesn't bother my trigger finger.  I did use a thin on the trigger finger side, but it was too hard to get a good grip on.  I think I am going to try the short thick one on my trigger side since if I switch hands, my thumb is long enough to still hit it.

With a 90 degree throw, it's a compromise.  The levers can't at the same time provide great leverage and purchase, and be out of the way, when the selector is rotated to FIRE, as the lever points straight down.  With a short throw, this problem is rather mitigated.

Typically, users only shoot from their weak side less than 90% of the time.  Therefore it's acceptable to have a shorter, or thinner lever on the trigger finger side so it's out of the way, and yet still provides a usable lever when the situation calls for it.

Short, thin, hybrid, short-thin, are all compromises.  None of them provide as much leverage, surface area, and purchase as the standard lever, but they do get in the way a lot less.

The way you use the safety, incidentally, is how Chris Costa uses his, he likes the standard lever on both sides, and doesn't seem to mind the interference to his trigger finger.

Re: crank lever, it's a surprisingly (to us) a popular lever, I'm not a fan, but this is one of the benefits of our selectors, is that you can always exchange it for another under our free lever exchange program.  I'm not convinced that one can gain more purchase by removing material, but since lever options are personal preferences, it does work for many users, just not for me

Speaking of the free lever exchange program, you can find more info here

I am a lefty and that is how I run my set-up.

Short/Thin lever on trigger finger side, standard lever on thumb side. Sweep safety off with thumb, sweep on w/ trigger finger.

I go short/short and thumb to select fire, index finger to select safe.

rick, not without modifying either the receiver or the selector.

Please visit this thread and 45 degree selector compatible receivers for more info.

Umbrella Corporation will be out with its 45/90 compatible billet receivers soon
