Okay, guys. I'm doing a budget build and came across DS Arms uppers. Does anyone have any experience with these? Just curious on what thoughts were concerning them. I'm looking for a bang for the buck upper and don't want to spend more than $500 on it.

I have one of the 16" M4 style uppers from DSarms. Its non chromed, just a 4140 chromemoly bore. It works well, it has had no problems for a few thousand rounds. Its not the most accurate upper I have but its accurate enough for me.
Some have had problems with the barrel extention coming loose on the nitrated uppers. But from what I understand DS took care of them pretty quick. |

My DSArms 1/7 Chrome Line upper has been pretty good with around 2k rounds through it. Still trying to find the ammo it "likes". My only gripe was with dealing with the company, who gave me a good 3-4 months of run around on the upper I ordered until I finally just got the one they had in stock. I would never buy anything from them again if it were not currently in stock.

| Quality is ok, but if on a budget build the price will be right. As far as the company, they are rude and jags. I waited 3 months, called to follow up a few times and they couldn't give any real updates. Cancelled my order, and my upper came a day later. Go with another company for a few more bucks. |

I got a DSA 16" middy HBar in a few weeks ago (on order 3+ months) & have run 100 flawless rounds thru it - tried 20 rounds of 5 different types. Tula, Win, Rem, PMC & Federal. I'm running it on a NFA polymere lower - I've got $ 525 in the whole thing less optics!
I would have bought a PSA but I wanted a 1/9 twist so I could run a 22 conversion bolt in it. All the PSA's seem to be 1/7. |

You missed a hell of black friday deal on uppers. Agree. I've ordered 4 PSA uppers. They've made two mistakes on orders (one on an upper). They made it good on both. I ordered an upper they oversold (blem for $279) so they upgraded me to non-blem and free BCG/Charging handle. The other was oversold 22lr CMMG conversion kit so they upgraded me free to the stainless kit. Be patient and you can get a blem for $279 that's cold hammer forged. That's 2 of my 4. FN barrels, make good on mistakes, cheaper than DSA |
