has anyone ever handled one of these before? i just held my buddy's model for the first time yesterday, and holy hell it's HEAVY!! I set it down and said "no. just, no."
it's like five pounds heavier than my rifle and i have a 12" rail middy system and his is only 7" railed carbine.

what gives?

It may be the heavier handguard or heavy barrel, what accessories does it have?

It probably has the heavy R4 barrel and the and the tactical carry handle which add over a pound. The barrel makes the rifle unbalanced and front heavy which makes it feel like it weighs more than it does.

thats gotta be it. the barrel is much thicker and he has a fenix tk15 mounted on the rail. its super front heavy. dislike

I considered one of these. After I held it, I selected a DDM4V5 LightWeight...There is NO comparison between the two ! Daniel Defense wins hands down.

I have a RRA with their HBAR barrel. Feels heavy, is heavy and is it a bit awkward as it makes the rifle feel front heavy. I still use it at times. Very accurate shooter barrel however.
