How do you guys like the your Magpul STR stocks?  Do they lock up nice and tight?  Please post your experience with the STR and list which extension tube you're using.

STR on a commercial tube. Lock up was poor at best. CTR fits the same tube perfect. I have no doubt Magpul would take care of it, but a piece of electrical tape on the buffer tube was faster than sending it in, so I have nothing to complain about. Installation also seemed harder than my CTR too for some reason.

Aside from that it's perfect. Issues like mine are rare and quickly taken care of anyways. It's my favorite stock with nothing else coming close.

I like mine.  It's only caught on my beard one time, where-as my CTR catches on the beard every time out.  I have the military sized one.  Lockup is nice and snug.  If you carry extra CR123 batteries, insert them base first or the first battery gets caught in the stock and won't easily come out.  I would buy another one in a heart beat.

In for more feedback about the commercial model. Been putting it off due to fears of fitment issues.

I have the STR on a Milspec tube and I'm very pleased with it.  Very solid and locks firm.  Wasn't sure how I would like the cheek plate but it actually gives ME a natural feeling cheek weld.

I got a STR on a mil-spec also. Locks up nice and tight compared to the stock MOE that came on my rifle.

I've been running an STR on a Mil-spec tube on my work gun for about 6 months now...I'm a big fan of the cheek-weld, price and it locks up tight.  No issues at all.

They are a little heavier then I would like. But I like the cheek weld and the length. Here is my STR on my SBR.

I just put one on my BCM 16". I haven't had it out yet but it seems to lock-up tight and the cheek weld is good.
It was a bit of a pain to install until I gave up on using the dummy .223 round. It then quickly went on.

For those looking for an easier way to install and remove it, press the adjustment latch and hold it open. You'll see the catch slide down out of the stock and there's a little circular pin. Use a screwdriver or knife to wedge between the stock and that pin to pry the catch down. Thousands of times easier than the traditional method.

That is exactly what I did after I shit-canned the dummy round.

I am also looking at this or the ACS-L, o currently have the regular ACS.
The reason I got it was for the awesome cheek weld and the storage, but I don't really use all of the storage.
How does the cheek weld compare to th ACS?

STR is by far my fave...

I really like my STR.

I'll probably sell off the 1 ACS I have and acquire more STR's and CTR's.

I was only a SOPMOD & CTR fan. Now I'm only a STR & SOPMOD fan. STR is one well thought out stock. Couldn't be happier with mine. I use it on LMT & BCM receiver extensions. Mine lock up tight but YMMV.
