I have two of the magpul rvg grips on my ar's now and am thinking about a tangodown for a recce build. Is the stubby recommended, or regular size tangodown?? What is the size comparison of the TD stubby vs. the magpul rvg? Just looking for opinions and what's most used.
thanks, ALan |

I have both. I like the TD stubby better in the QD guise. If you want to put a grip on a rifle and leave it there, then I have no problems with the MP VG, but I really think they missed the boat by not incorporating a storage compartment in the VG. They could have used the same base plugs as their MOE/MIAD grips and if one did not want to use it as storage, then don't. I wish it had the option.
However, I like storage and I like the ability to switch the grip around from AR to AR without having to use tools or buy multiple grips. The TD stubby is just about the perfect grip IMO, if only it were not so damned expensive. Same for the FUG. Nice grip, too damned expensive. If MP would put storage in their grips then I could buy 4 of them for what one TD costs, but no storage is a big negative for me. I find the grips, both MIAD pistol grip and TD VG, to be really nice places to store your Form 1 copies. To me one is about as comfortable as the other. If the QD lever gets in your way, put it on the other side or flip the lever over so it folds/locks in the opposite direction. Not a big deal to get it out of the way if it bothers you. |
