Hi guys,

I'm building an AR and I'm currently trying to decide on which rail to get.
I'm down to either the MI Gen 2 two-piece which is $140

or the new Damage Industries "don't tread on me" which is $90 right now.

The MI gen 2 weights 5.1oz less, has 4 quick disconnect points while the Damage has 2 and it has the extended top rail.  I guess my main question is, "are these extras worth the extra $50 and is the weight difference even going to be noticeable?"

Thanks for your help,
Scott

I would go with the MI if I were choosing between those two. I like my sling closer to the rear on the handguards. And to answer if you will notice the weight difference, ounces make pounds. If you save 5.1 ounces here and another few here, there, etc., it will eventually make a pound.
