So, i ordered one up today, with 500 Rounds of Remington THUNDERBOLT/500 to try for now.
Any tips or tricks of the trade for that setup?

Going in a Stag Arms lower, and a RRA upper. ( A4 ) i think,

I would get about 5-6 different types of ammo, read up on modifying your magazines for proper fit BEFORE going to the range, bring along something to file/sand your mags and if you run into feeding problems you can fix it on the spot.

Its about a 60/40 chance you'll have to tweak your mags a bit before it runs perfect, but once you've got that out of the way it'll be a blast. I love my dedicated 22lr

Even still... The different ammo types (both for accuracy and function testing) and the preparedness to tweak your mags as needed apply ;)

Don't fill the mags. I find that if I start with a mag that has 15 or so rounds of cci in it, it works better.

Ditch the Remington ammo!! Use a couple hundred rounds of CCI, then Federal bulk will run great––reminton ammo ain't what it used to be!! You'll love your CMMG––I really enjoy mine. Happy shootin'

So my Kit came in on Tuesday, immediatley i put it all together... Needed thors hammer to get the damn mag in and out... Took some sand paper and a utility knife and made her fit ( snug, but goes in and out with ease )

Yesterday and today i've put about 300 rounds through my AR with the CMMG stainless kit... All Federal Champion... I tell you what, that thing is SMOOTH

1. I load the mag with about 22 rounds ( any more and i find it's almost impossible to put the rounds in with the spring that tight
2. Pull the charge handle back fast, swift, and let it snap back... going slow causes more issues
3. It's dirty, but TOTALLY worth it...
4. Accurate 30 paces ( about 60 ft ) Im shooting spray pain cans with open sights free standing ( not that great of a shot, so im impressed with myself )
5. Easy to go nuts and pull the trigger till it goes click ( fast, it's cheap right? ) LOL

Very happy, best 200$ i ever spent... i figure i'll go through about a box of ammo ( 525 rounds ) every 2 weeks with this thing.  Will slow down once it warms up and motorcycle season starts :-)

tjroux- hello from a fellow Mainer.

I have the non-stainless version, which I used only a little last summer.  I found that plain lead nosed bullets were too soft, and jammed while trying to feed.  I didn't get more than two rounds in a row to fire with those.

Copper jacketed worked better, though I can't recall whether I had issues, though much fewer, or not.

I need to get outside this spring and work it to see which rounds work best.

Depending on what mags you got, the 25 round grey mags have nubs on the back that are suppose to be filed to fit.
Copper wash ammo like Federal or Winchester bulk sold at Walmart run best.
CCI Mini Mags will give better accuracy and burn cleaner.
Remington is not recommended for the CMMG.

Just got my complete CMMG upper in, it's on my last LAR lower. Can't wait to get to the range I have some Winchester 555 from Wally World to try first. I believe mine is the Sierra model.

I have 2 dedicated CMMG .22lr uppers and they are awesome.  Loves everything but Remington's which will cause an occasional FT Feed/Fire.  Best rifle purchase I've made based on shoot ability and economics.
