Is there a difference in length between commercial and mil-spec buffer tubes.
There seems to be a difference in the LOP specification quoted on the Magpul web site relating to the ACS stock. |

Commercial is usually longer than mil-spec. They also are larger in diameter, and have a slanted back end instead of a straight back end. A few have slanted aft ends but not all. The slant is part of the reason they are usually longer. He specifically asked about length. |

Also, I haven't seen a non-slanted commercial tube yet (then again, I don't use commercial tubes on my AR's). I thought the slant was done on all commercials to immediately tell the difference (I could be wrong, though). |

I'm the opposite of you. I've never personally seen a commercial tube with the slant though they obviously exist. My first AR had a commercial tube & it had the flat end. I don't remember the length, though. |
