who makes the best
who makes the worst whos are over priced and whos got the bang for the buck another question what makes one better then another

What are you looking for exactly? Quad rail or rounded rail with multiple rail mount options?
One that uses factory barrel nut? One that requires more tools to mount (ie proprietary nut)? ect.... I am a fan or the Troy TRX Extreme rails myself. best bang for the buck IMO is the DD lite rails that mount to the factory barrel nut. What makes them better is the quality of materials used, weight, trueness of the rail spacing, and fit and finish. |

thank you thats exactly what i want looking for
i want a 10 inch ff rail so i can put a bi pod on when i am bench shooting or what not and if in the future if i want back up sites i am fine with going the more tool route i have a great gun smith right now i have a non-ff utg i hear there not to good...
how do you feel about midwest industries free float rails? also its to cover up my low pro gass block and the silver ring left from the front site |

how do you feel about midwest industries free float rails? also its to cover up my low pro gass block and the silver ring left from the front site UTG rails are inexpensive and heavy but still good rails. Like anything rails are higher priced to get higher quality and design. I would not suggest a Danial Defence or SWS rail for a rifle unless you want a showpiece or are going into battle but they are nice. There are many well designed rails out now that are not to expensive. |

who makes the best LaRue, Daniel Defense, KAC, SWS who makes the worst UTG whos are over priced KAC and whos got the bang for the buck YHM, MI another question what makes one better then another materials, weight, attachment method, customer service, spec of rails ![]() I know its not exactly what you asked for, but don't rule out the modular tubes like Apex CNC, Troy, PRI, DD, JP/VTAC. I used to have quad rails, now I use Apex CNC tubes with just a rail section for a bipod and light. The only rifle with a quad rail is my little carbine that uses a Daniel Defense two-piece non-freefloat rail and that is because it is actually lighter than the standard CAR handguards while still giving me the option of a light/VFG. |

I can only comment on the YHM lightweight weight and Daniel Defense lite, because they are the only two I own.
The Daniel Defense is better in every measurable way except price. The YHM is heavy and the size of the rails is slightly out of spec, just enough to require some accessories to be forced on. |

Daniel Defense or LaRue for a battle rifle. I like DD for the continuous top rail.
Midwest Industries for a good, mid priced rail system. The new UTG Pro Free Floats are not like anything they have produced before. Decent for the range or HD and inexpensive. Dave N |
