I'm building my wife's first AR (surprise X-mas present, getting started early so other people's presents don't run me out of money first), and one of the main requirements is having a short stock b/c that's what fits her best.  Since we're in upstate NY we have to have fixed stocks here, so that either means pinning a collapsible one all the way in or getting a fixed stock that comes from the factory as short as the M4 type fully closed.  Thus far I've seen the Rock River entry stock, which has a very nice price and I'm leaning towards, and the ACE skeleton stock in its smallest size.  Anyone have some other options worth considering?  Any other short A2 style ones out there beside RRA's?  What would you do for this and why?

there is the Sully Stock, which is between the RRA Entry  and an A1 in length....IIRC it is equivalent to 1 notch out with standard butt plate and has an extended plate also.

I have an RRA entry stock and it measures 7.25" from receiver to back of butplate, which is close to, if not identical to an M-4 stock fully collapsed, and the Sully stock is advertised as being 8" long.

FWIW I use a DPMS 1" butstock extender with my RRA entry stock, and each click on an M-4 stock makes ~.625" difference, so my stock should be identical in length to an M-4 stock 2-clicks out.

If I was forced to run a fixed stock that is the setup I would use.

Top is a RRA 6 position, in the first extended position.
Below is a Sully.
I opted for a Sully for my wife's build (not shown).
It's got just enough heft to it to bring the balance point back without being too heavy.

Pinned collapsable, RRA entry, Bushmaster shorty, ACE or Sully stock.

What's especially good about it is that because the RRA entry stock is hollow like A1/A2 stocks, if you don't like how front heavy your rifle is with this stock setup, you can fill it with something to add weight and balance your rifle better. Not so easy with something like the Ace skeleton stocks, if balance turns out to be a problem.

I have the entry stock on one my post ban rifles, I think she would like it. The sully stock is solid plastic and very heavy. It's a great stock but I don't know if it's a great stock for a woman.

If the entry is too small, not sure how tall your wife is, get an a-1 from Cavarms.

A pinned collapsible stock is something some NY District Attorney's would consider illegal, although more likely downstate. Still it's safer to have a regular fixed stock.
