Maybe this is too specific but is there a grand thread of grips anywhere?  I know there are a ton of options out there but not a thread wheere they're consolidated that I can find.  If not then we can start one...?

Sure. I guess there really hasn't been a need for a dedicated grip thread. I'm not aware of one anyway. The main players in the aftermarket grip game are:

Magpul
Tangodown
Ergo
Stark
Command Arms

I'm certain that there must be others that I'm missing.

i think grips are one of those things where you just have to get one in your hand to make a decision. it would be kind of difficult to get a subjective grip thread

Agreed. Completely different feel for each user. Example: Some like the A2, others can't stand the feel of it.

Yes, but a really good grip design is liked by most people who use it - it has to be a good fit for most people.

This is why the MIAD is a good starting point, due to the 3 backstraps, and 2 front straps.

Definitely subjective but having all of the options in one place always makes things easier.  I appreciate the lists guys.  It'll be hard to find one I like I think just because of what you said, you really have to feel it, I don't really know how to do that other than buying and returning a bunch...
