Sooooo I caught a bad case of BRD and am working on collecting the pieces for my first build.  I have spent the past month obsessively researching and learning and have run in to a few roadblocks in the decision making process. I am trying to build a "lightweight" Recce style rifle that will be primarily used as a 3gun rifle but will work well for SHTF/Etc.  The 3gun use will be to train for SHTF (and for fun), and I want to play/train with what I would use in a real situation. I would like it to be capable of midrange sniping but also be effective in CBQ (while maintaining lightweight for quick movement/retreat). Think effective hit and run guerrilla warfare rifle.  I would like to get 1-1.5 MOA with good match ammo...if I do my part. No need for Sub MOA.

Here is my build minus the two parts I am having trouble deciding on

Mega billet lower (already otw to my ffl )
G & R LPK with Ergo grip
BCM buffer tube + Spikes st-t2 buffer + USGI spring +Lmt Castle Nut
Imod Stock
Burris Mtac/tac30 with Larue Mount
Vtac TRX extreme 11inch FF hand guard
Spikes NiB BCG
Magpul Mbus
Magpul AFG
Battle comp 2.0

The first and most troubling decision is with the barrel/upper.  I really want the accuracy of Stainless but that requires a pretty heavy barrel profile which defeats the Lightweight requirement of the build.

Here is what I am considering:

Noveske Rogue Hunter lightweight 16in SS  (this would be perfect, but I am concerned about the ability of this barrel to handle a couple of mag dumps [not talking multi betamag dumps..just normal "hard" use"]. anyone with knowledge/experience with the barrel would be wonderful...my google skills failed to turn up very much)

BCM 410ss 16in . (a good barrel and well within my accuracy needs, but heavier than I would like.   Would consider fluting it, but have the same concerns about putting sustained fire through it if I do that)

BCM lightweight CHF/or Non CHF 16 inch.  (This barrel meets and even exceeds my weight requirements, but I am concerned about it's accuracy for longer shots, Any real accuracy advantage to the CHF since it is chrome lined?)

So, are there any other barrels I should consider that might meet my (somewhat conflicting) goals?  Some of my problem is a lack of good access to these parts/builds with these parts, so I can't get a feel for them on my own.   My local gunstore had an ATI sporter(http://www.stiguns.com/guns/SR/SportingRifle.php) that had a 16 inch SS barrel on it and I was very happy with the weight of the gun.  I cannot, however, find any information on the profile or weight of the barrel so I can't use the experience as good measuring stick.  If anyone knows this info that would help a ton as well.

My other challenge is in choosing a trigger.

I am torn between the Giessele SDE,SDC, and SD3G.   Which one would work best for my needs in your opinion?   I am currently leaning towards the SDE (straight trigger variant of ssa-e) but I worry about it being too light in social situation with adrenaline involved.   Opinions and facts on the matter would be wonderful

Thanks for any insight offered!  Let me know if you have any other comments on the build.

I have a bcm ss410 and like it alot. I've never tried much for accuracy with it but it's very accurate from the shooting i've done with it.

How do you feel about the weight and handling compared to a lightweight profile barrel, if you have handled one?

It's heavier for sure, but it's not horrible and it's worth it.

Anyone else have input?

Seems like you're overthinking this a bit. You've sorted through and selected products from reputable companies. I'd just make a decision and go with it. If you have to make a change after you gain some experience so be it.

+1.  Not insinuating that you don't have experience (heck, you've thought this build out VERY well), but at this point I think your best bet is to pick a config, put it together, and see if it works for you.  I can almost guarantee you that it will work, but I'll also bet a PMAG that you'll find something that you'd like to have done differently, and you'll change it.

Although my rifle is not nearly the quality of yours, I wanted something similar for my SHTF/3 Gun rifle.  I started with a RRA Midlength upper (which feels like a bull-barrel because it nearly is) on a quality lower with a VLTOR EMOD stock.  For a trigger, I took the stock trigger from my LPK and sent it to Bill Springfield for a 4 lb break.  It's crisp, light enough for 3-gun, but still heavy enough that I'm not concerned about an AD if I ever have to grab it in the middle of the night.

That said, after shooting a couple 3-gun matches with it, I realize it's not ideal.  I'm building a new upper based around an 18" WOA SPR rifle gas barrel with a free float tube and a proper compensator.  I'd expect you might find something similar - the gun you build for dual duty ends up being two rifles in the not two distant future.  But a lightweight middy is a great thing to have around, regardless.
