I am looking at buying an LMT complete lower, just wondering if anyone has experience with them? Are they low-shelf or high shelf? I will probably be putting a BCM upper on it so I will want a tight fit. Anyone have that combo? Thanks!

I have an LMT with BCM 14.5 upper and am very happy with this setup. So much so that I picked up another LMT lower just to have for my next build.

The triggers on both of these were kinda ruff from the factory. I did a slight trigger job on them myself and they feel like silk now.

Only way to get a tight fit is to use something like an accuwedge or ear plug or something to make it tight or to test fit the upper and lower together before you get one or the other. Its a complete crap shoot if a upper and lower will fit tight. Doesn't effect anything generally speaking as long as both are in spec.

Want to say my lmt is high shelf. Can't remember.

High shelf.. Accuwedge is a no-go.

Ok great. I have heard they make a quality product, I just want to confirm that. What did you have to do to make the trigger smoother? I assume you have a standard trigger in the lower?

+1 LMT lowers have high shelf and the accu-wedge are too tall to be used as is.

My small sample of one LMT lower have a better than average fit with my LMT 16" upper so I didn't have to use an accu-wedge.

I've also tried my other four Colt uppers on my LMT lower and about same fit as my LMT upper.

My lower have a light smooth trigger, I guess I was lucky, it is as good as one of my best Colt lower.

I have three of them, they've all functioned flawlessly in my experience.
I have a BCM upper on one of them, and there isn't much wobble.  Wobble is not something you need to worry about on an AR receiver anyways.

+1  My LMT lower has a nice trigger- better than I expected. Fits my BCM 16-inch mid-length very nicely- NO wobble. They're a great combination.

I have a LMT defender lower.  I had it mounted to a BCM 16" carbine for a year. Then changed it to a 14.5 CMMG upper. It's my goto gun. No problems. No need for any fitment. They mated to each upper just fine.

You might say I am a LMT fan, two MRP's, one MWS, and one Patrol, a few more waiting on optics....IMO, the best AR out there, sold all of the others I owned and have only LMT...

LMT (Lewis Machine Tool) - mills for has milled for
LMT, Lauer, DS arms, PWA, Eagle Arms, Knights Armament, And Barrett.

You'd think that by now they'd get it right. Only draw back, it's high shelf.

I have a few LMT lowers, and the quality on all are excellent. For a complete lower the LMT with the standard trigger, ambi safety and SOPMOD stock are just a heck of a deal when compared.
Their standard trigger is excellent and is one of the main reason I prefer LMT lowers.
Other features is the receiver extension is 7075T6 impact extruded aluminum, and a hardly ever mentioned design feature of additional venting on the bottom side of the receiver extension to allow water. etc to drain if ever immersed.
I also like their modest roll mark.

My LMT lower has their two stage trigger, it doesn't need any help to be a good trigger.

Both my Spikes .22 and my LaRue Stealth uppers fit on it snug, not tight, but snug enough to feel solid.
