I would like a handguard of the style type that is totally smooth with only one integral rail with that rail being the top rail for flip sights. I would then like it to have the capability to mount rails where needed on the handguard as needed.
This is the style type I am thinking of troy TRX I have heard that that particular system (the troy system) is fragile (the mounting system) So of these type of handguards which is the toughest and most durable? I would imagine the weak link is the mounting system |

im going to say that the VLTOR CASV system might be the strongest. or the ARMS SIR system.
I have the CASV and i love it. why do you need it to be "the strongest"? I have the VTAC Extreme as well, and while if i had to use my rifle as a club i would use the CASV first.... i really dont have any concerns about the durability of the mounting system on the VTAC Extreme either... installed properly and locktited it isnt going anywhere. |
| I've used both TRX and MRF Troy products as well as screw-on type ff tubes. The TRX and MRF both go on without a hitch and are alot easier to align and tighten properly. I did have to shim one TRX rail to get the front sight to align properly; however, it was installed on a "blemished" upper reciever that a friend of mine picked up cheap. Did not know if it was the rail or the reciever. Used pieces of a peel washer between the rail and the reciever to get to align properly. So far no issues. The TRX rails are extremely lightweight. Uses a proprietary barrel nut. |

PRI with ARMS rail, has turned out to be very strong from military reports. http://www.ar15.com/media/viewFile.html?i=29239 Edwin, you have lots of ARMS components on that rig; aren't you worried about the pic spontaniously combusting by simply being posted on arfcom? |

I own a MI SS15" and I can tell you that I am not worried about the strength because I know that Midwest Ind has out effin standing customer support. I am sold on MI.
Because I run em', and they ain't paying me for it.... I had a musket, running KAC drop in two peice rails and I have had other FF rails, in the end for me its all about who will replace them when I break them. |

It's actually the LaRue mount on the PVS-22 that gives concern, it's presence on an otherwise ARMS equipped rifle could be hazardous to the target's health! |

Oh, I am so in on this one. I have a current build I am working on and this handguard would be perfect for it. |
