| I am a new member and this is very first post. I have been on this sight for the last week trying to figure out which rifle I wanted to get. I finally decided on a DPMS Oracle. I realize this is not the greatest rifle but I got it for $625 + tax and think it will be a fine rifle for me. I put a Barska 1.5x-4.5x tactical scope that I have had laying around on my new AR-15. I want to put a set of BUIS on my rifle but I want the sight radius to be longer that the rifle has. I want to put a free floating tube on my rifle but my gas block has a rail on it that I think will be in the way. Does anyone know if my gas block will interfere with a free float tube? Also, I do not have a ton of money to build this rifle so I chose Magpul MBUS gen 2 sights, and would appreciate a recomendation of a cheap/affordable free floating front end. Thanks so much in advance for helping a newbie out. |

I have a YHM railed forearm on one of my rifles. Its not the one you're interested in though. I like and wouldn't hesitate to buy anything from YHM. They only problem you'll have is that you are going to have to change your gas block to something low profile if you want to increase sight radius. You'll need a low profile gas block that is for a .750 diameter barrel. Such as the ones YHM sells.
The part number you listed is the standard carbine forearm, that would not increase your sight radius, it would shorten it if you plan to mount your sight on top of the rail. I would go with the specter or rifle length is increasing the sight distance is your plan. You said you bought MBUS sights. They should not be mounted on a gas block rail in case you didn't know. It becomes very hot and has the potential to melt them. |
