I am daydreaming/planning my next build which is going to have a 20" barrel.  I built a rifle a few about 5 years ago and used a bushmaster barrel and had good luck with it but It seems they have fallen out of favor on here (I've been out of the loop on AR's for a while).  Has their quality gone down a great deal.  The first barrel I used seemed to be a good value.  Any thoughts?

The only bad thing I've ever heard about their barrels was the front sight base being off center a bit.  I know this was an issue a few years ago, not sure if it is much of one now.  I bought one of their uppers last year and haven't sighted in my irons yet, hopefully my FSB isn't canted.

The FSBs themselves are fine. Sometimes they appeared canted from the barrel being over-torqued. The quality of hastily assembled uppers suffered around the time the AWB expired in 2004.

Bushmaster is still my go-to company for barrels. Only concern would be if the feed ramps are compatible with whatever upper you pair it up with.

Bushmaster has always made decent barrels.

The name Bushmaster doesn't seem to be very well received on ARFCOM anymore. There was a time where Bushy was one of the big 3 here. For all the negative comments here, I wonder just hom many have owned, shot or used a Bushmaster product or are they just joining the train. Anyway, very few have bad things to say about their barrels. They are still one of the best makers out there and offer a quality tube for a good price.

I just recently built an A4 with a Bushmaster Govt. Profile 20" 1/7 barrel.
It's accuracy is outstanding.

No worries.
