Ok, I know nothing about Chromoly bbls, and I'd like to find out anything I can about them.

If anyone has any info more specifically on Lilja bbls, taht would be great.

Advantages over chrome lined?

How does it compare to a bbl like the LaRue rifles have?

From what i've read if broken in properly they can be sub moa easily with quality ammo and barrel. I've never heard of the brand your asking about.

Lilja is seldom mentioned on this forum, as is Krieger, with good reason.
They put out precision barrels and are very good.

Any CL barrel will outlast a CM barrel.  Few will shoot as well

You might get more input by posting on the training forum.

Chromoly actually refers to the type of steel used in the construction of the barrel. 4140 and 4150 steel are both types of chromoly steel. It is called chromoly due to the amount of chromium in the metal. Mil Spec barrels are made from 4150 steel and are then chrome lined for added barrel life, ease of cleaning and lubricity. Though Chromoly barrels that are not chrome lined will provide slightly better accuracy than a chrome lined barrel, you will only have a barrel life of about 5,000-6,000 rounds before accuracy begins to be affected. Chromoly barrels that are button swaged (cut barrels) and chrome lined, have a barrel life of aproximately 10,000-12,000 rounds before noticing degredation in accuracy. Whereas Cold Hammer Forged Chromoly barrels (CHF Barrels) that are chrome lined have a life of aproximately 16,000-20,000 rounds+ before noticing degredation in accuracy. I hope this answers your questions.
