I am looking at getting a second upper for my RRA lower. I have it set up for distance shooting Mag pull PRS stock big scope bi-pod and I want to have the ability to have a shorty with a collapsible stock, super light, as it sits not it weighs around 11 lbs. What are ya’lls opinions about changing out upper and stock? Can I put a short buffer tube on under the PRS stock, etc… |

Changing everything over just to shoot a different length barrel seems like alot of work.
If you get another lower then you will have a whole gun and that is more exciting than a different barreled upper anyway. Putting a PRS onto a shorter tube could work with the rite shimming to attach to but not for a carbine stock tube like I believe you are referring to. |

Changing uppers is no biggie.
Changing formats like you describe is a bit different and may involve even more than a stock. For instance you may want a two stage trigger when shooting with magnified optic. I would. The additional cost would not be much. A lower with a trigger for that bipod platform would be a small fraction of the optic alone. Build it and keep it intact. A recipie for success. |
