I have a BCM 12.5 inch barrel, and I checked the headspace with several different bolts that I have.  The no go gauge chambers easily, but the field gauge will not chamber, so I know it is within acceptable specs, but the brass expands a lot around the head.  The other barrels I have are a lot easier on the brass and will not chamber a no go gauge.  The fired brass from these other barrels will easily fit into a case gauge and are only a couple thousands above the max shoulder length.  However, the fired brass from the 12.5 inch barrel will not even go into a case gauge!  Is this something I should be concerned about?

Apparently BCM is not as great as people think.  Sounds like you got too much headspace.  The NO-GO should not GO.  Send the barrel and bolt back to them for replacement.

Trying different bolts until you find one that creates shorter headspace is the easiest way to improve the situation.  It does get expensive though.

You're that guy who dares God to strike you with lightning too, right?

I rebarrelled my AR with a White Oak 12.5 inch barrel from ADCO; it has a Wylde chamber.  The go gauge chambered but not the no go gauge.  I shot some reloads and Hornady 5.56 TAP through it today, and the fired cases drop in a case gauge and are still within SAAMI specs.  Now, that's a match chamber!

Seems to be a trend developing....
