| What is the best Magpul Stock, as in what works the best and what stays the tightest and also what has the best cheek weld. |

I am wanting to get a new stock for my AR and i just want some opinions on which magpul to get, right now i just have the standard non magpul 6 position adjustable stock and i do not like it that much and i have heard that magpul makes some pretty good stocks. They do, but it depends on what type of rifle, and what you're trying to achieve. |

Ok how about this i want something that will not wobble around and maybe even something with a little bit better cheek weld than the standard stock that came on my S&W M&P15 OR

Strictly irons? Looking at keeping weight down? Need a riser? Problem is, you came in and basically asked, "What kind of tires on my automobile?"
What do you want to use it for? |

Find someone near you who has an ACS and who has a UBR. For a 16" barrel or longer, those two will balance out the rifle the best. Both lock up tight and both have an improved cheek weld over a factory M4 stock. The ACS has a substantial cheek piece that you may or may not like. The ACS weighs slightly less than the UBR (though when I have used both I could barely feel the difference- both balanced the rifle well). The UBR is solid and is basically a collapsible fixed stock. It has a narrower cheek piece with a more standard cheek weld. Both have a trap-door storage compartment but the ACS has two tubes that run the length of the stock that will hold up to 6 CR123s or 4 AA batteries.
If you are planning on going with an SBR in the future, the CTR may bet the best option for you, but as your rifle sits now (with a non-NFA barrel) the CTR will probably leave the rifle feeling a bit front heavy. The CTR and ACS share the same lock-up mechanism and, when fitted on the proper sized buffer tube, will have no movement. If you are on a budget and are looking for an intermediary between the standard M4 and the more expensive models, the MOE may be for you. It shares the shape of the CTR but lacks the locking lever and sling mounting locations. Both the CTR and MOE can accept LaRue add-ons like the Mono-pod Pic rail and the RISR (reciprocating cheek riser that allows you to charge the rifle with a cheek riser in place- something that is impossible on standard cheek risers). Lastly, if you want to build a precision rig that will only be a precision rig, the PRS is the option you need. It is finely adjustable for LOP and Cheek weld making it perfect for fitting your rifle to your exact body type. |

Quoted: I love my M93... Hard to find these days though. Best cheek weld on any AR stock I have ever owned. UBR a close second though. http://www.umlautarms.com/store/images/magpul/m93_bk.jpg Ergo makes their version now. And yeah, going to need more info before I can recommend a stock.

| It really all depends on the rifle you have or you want it to be. If you want to keep weight down then the ctr is a great choice. If it's front heavy do to a long rail and a longer barrel/ whatever then the UBR is a great choice. It just depends on what you want it for. |

What do you want to use it for? Deleted by moderator. This is not GD. And the best Magpul stock is the MOE. It costs $50 and will suit 90% of users just fine. |
| I will also vote for the UBR. I like fixed stocks for their "solid" feel. I like short stocks since I like to choke up on the rifle a bit. This only left "entry" length type stocks, or the Sully stock which I used to own. Then Magpul released the UBR. It is as solid as a fixed stock, with the ability to change the length of pull just the same as a regular collapsible stock. Yes, it is heavy, but after some range time you get used to it. I bought mine new in the box from an eBay vendor for $200 shipped. |
I agree the UBR is the heavier of the bunch but growing up with Garands, M-1 Thompsons, M14's etc it is not too heavy. I always felt my SP-1 and A2 carbine felt too light. So it solved that issue a little for me.
Thing is I really like fixed stocks so once I fondled a UBR I was hooked. Another plus is you could butt stroke a moose with the damn thing. |
| I think you will like a ACS. If you can swing a UBR go for it. You said you just want something better then the stock stock. This is a Carbine? then ACS. If its a 18" or longer get the PRS. My ACS is built like a tank. Theres only 2 different types of stocks. PRS for precision and the rest are all for Carbine use. |
| From what you say you want in a stock, you shouldn't be limiting yourself to magpul. They are quality made for sure, but are somewhat overrated. Look at the LMT SOPMOD kit or a Vltor IMOD or EMOD. All three are very high quality and offer better cheek weld and better rear pad than any of the magpuls. The imod costs the same as a ctr but offers a lot more. |

What don't you like about the standard 6 position stock. Letting us know that will allow us to point you in the right direction. I just went with the Magpul MOE stock on my Spikes M4gery and I couldn't be happier. I locks up nice and tight and is comfortable on the cheek. The shoulder purchase is solid and the recoil pad gives a slight relief in the little recoil the rifle has to begin with. Magpul products are sold and well thought out. |

I put a Magpul MOE on my Sig 556. The rifle has a YHM A2-type rear sight and a Samson flip-up front. With a 3/4" riser option, I get a perfect sight picture with a cheek-weld. This is the basic Magpul stock and it fits my rifle snuggly with no wobble and it looks great! I have several other Magpul accessories and I'll testify that their products and customer service are excellent. |
| I have a standard M-4 stock, two Magpul CTR's, two Magpul ACS', and two Vltor EMOD's on my AR's. I like all of them, but it depends on what you will be using them for. That being said, I just purchased an ACS for one of M-4forgery because I wanted to carry extra batteries for my Eotech and light. Balances out really nice and very good cheek weld like the EMOD. But I do like the CTR on a handy carbine; keeps the rifle light and the lock-up is solid. |
