I am trying to install a short rail section for mounting a light/laser at the 2 o'clock postion on my TRX Extreme battlerail (yes, I'm a lefty). I noticed that the inside grooves are not centered with the holes at the 10 and 2 o'clock positions, and therefore the rail section backing bar doesn't seat securely. In fact, the screws won't catch.. This is disappointing to say the least. Is it impossible to locate rail sections at 10 and 2, or am I limited to 9, 3 and 6 o'clock? Can I, or should I modify the rail backing bar by grinding off the ridge? I haven't looked, but should I assume that the same goes for the VTAC Extreme on my other AR? Thanks for the help.

If you read the instructions it tells you when you mount in the 2 o'clock position to flip the backing plate over leaving the ridges exposed. hope this helps

LMAO!!   Instructions are long gone......but I'm cracking up thinking of me grinding away and refinishing instead of just flipping it over! Geez!....my brain fell asleep before I did last night!

I hope that provides a good lock onto the rail. We'll see. Thanks.

Yeah....I saw them, but I'm embarrassed because flipping it over isn't rocket science.......

The problem is, that at the 2 o'clock position, the top edge of the rail section rests too closely to edge of the top rail. I can't get the light/laser on, even if I attach the removable wing lock onto the rail section when loose, and then tighten it down. The holes won't seat. IMHO, a rail in that position, as well as the 10 o'clock position is useless.
