| Guys does anybody have a DPMS Low Pro upper receiver? I am wondering if it is the same height as a A3 upper. In the pics it looks a little taller than normal. Thanks John |
| I'm not sure but I believe that the early Lo-pro uppers were taller than regular A3 rail height. I believe that all of them made in the last year+ have been the correct height. I wouldn't take this info to the bank, but I'm fairly certain that I've read the same on this forum a couple times before. Hope this helps, even if in a small way. |

Info straight from DPMS:
Our AR15 receivers are all the same height except the High Rider and Tri-Mount. The LR308 Platform has two heights, the A3 and Lo-Pro Raised Rail. The A3 was changed recently to better accommodate our other components. I guess in reality, with the number sold before the change, there are now 3 heights. To find out if you have a newer model or older run, the easiest way to measure is with a caliper from the bottom surface that mates to the lower to the top of the rail. The new versions measure 2.003 and the old versions are 2.063. Any larger receiver rail to handguard rail height difference would be due to the lack of an industry standard in the large frame AR style rifles. Everybody is still pretty much making their own thing and some measurements just don't line up between manufacturers. |
| I have one and love it for the most part. I used the DPMS claw to do the build with no issues. The biggest complaint/issue I have with them is the walls are thicker then normal. This limits the rails you can use with them. None of my Troy rails will work due to the anti rotation tabs. It seems any rail that uses an anti rotation tab design will not fit this upper. Again I have only tried the Troys. I have the MI SS on mine and works great. Others that I think would work would be some of the DD, KAC, PRI, LaRue, YHM. I do not think the Spikes BAR or SAR will work. |

The M1S will work but it won't close completely |
