How much of a difference does it make to flute a heavy barrel? For weight and accuracy and cooling.

Not much according to adco's numbers. Even less if you use a dremel.

Fluting a barrel that is already finished "may" just make accuracy worse.

Had it done to a short Bushmaster barrel by Adco. Looks great but the weight is still there. I like it, lots of information going both ways fr the benefits. Like dimpeling, it's mostly for asthetics. For weight loss, you need to reprofile the barrel.
