what is the advantage of a fluted barrel vs. say a heavy barrel, bull barrel or standard barrel on an AR15

| Advantages...while I don't know the scientific answer, I can say it has the rigidity of the heavy while shaving some of the weight off. I had ADCO do mine (an 11.5" Bushmaster). Originally I wanted the dimples but opted for the flutes based on cost and maximun weight savings. Add to that it looks fantastic and it's a winner in my book. |
